Today we got the privilege to experience Google expeditions. We went on a virtual field-trip through the Amazon rainforest then were up close and personal with sharks!
We will be celebrating Valentine's Day next Thursday, February 11th. Click HERE for a class list of names.
A few things to remember: -This is optional. -If you choose to distribute Valentine's please include everyone. -No treats with peanuts. Click HERE for the conference schedule for O13 and O14. Please remember that these will be STUDENT led, which means that we need you to bring your child with you to the conference. Your child will be leading the conference. Multiple conferences are being held at the same time since the students will be doing most of the talking.
Winter Wonderland projects are due Wednesday, December 16th. Your child is working on the writing portion at school. They are to create a model or replica to represent their ideas. A graphic organizer of your child’s ideas was sent home last week. It could be a poster, diorama, trifold---anything that represents their writing.
Our Winter Wonderland celebration will be held on Thursday, December 17th. Each student will choose one paragraph to read. Afterwards, we will have a gallery walk of our displayed projects. Please mark your class time. O14---10:45am O13---1:45pm Thursday, December 17th is also our school’s ugly Christmas sweater contest. I’m sure Mrs. Howell would love to see parents participate, too! Friday, December 18th is our last day of school before vacation. We will return to school on January 4th. We have started our Winter Wonderland writing project. This is a special writing project that incorporates figurative language and descriptive writing with the holiday/winter season. Click HERE for a link to the information page that was sent home this week. The writing part of this project will be completed at school. Your child is going to create at home a representation of their writing. Your child will be bringing home the graphic organizer of their ideas in order to start the project that is due on Wednesday, December 16. All parents will be invited to hear the children share one of their descriptive paragraphs on Thursday, December 17. Invitations will come home next week.
